This year is a massive milestone as we celebrate America's 250th birthday, and I have some incredibly exciting news for our community. We don’t have to cross the river or battle the massive crowds on the National Mall to get an unforgettable experience. This year, the celebration is happening right here in our own backyard.

I recently sat down with National Park Ranger Katie Schafer to get the inside scoop on how the National Park Service (NPS) is putting Anacostia Park right at the center of the fun.
