The D.C. Bottle Bill (also referred to as the Beverage Container Recycling Refund Act) is proposed legislation in Washington, D.C., designed to establish a container deposit system. Here are some arguments to each side. Feel free to share your thoughts on the proposal.

🛑 MANDATORY POSITION STATEMENT:Unless a formal, legally binding Community Benefits Agreement (CBA) is negotiated and executed with ANC 8A and local Ward 8 leadership, I will vote DOWN this project when it comes before use. Voluntary promises and standard zoning compliance are simply not enough to protect our neighborhood's long-term interests.

Our community is facing a critical crisis with unhoused residents and individuals struggling with severe substance use disorders—particularly along the Q Street SE corridor and surrounding blocks. While safety is essential, law enforcement alone cannot solve these complex issues. We need real, compassionate, direct resources on the ground to give our neighbors the support and hope they need to seek help and rebuild their lives.

"I was responsible for removing a murderer and serial armed robber off the streets, thats before I worked to free the 18 year old wrongly accused first. That brought much more safety to Fairlawn. Financially, for years I've pledged $2,000 to two murdered victims in Fairlawn to pay for the victims tombstones. Theres more to this than what is being reported."

August 11, 2026, at 1:00 PM, I will be holding a press availability outside the Superior Court of the District of Columbia prior to formally filing a civil lawsuit against the District of Columbia Government and the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD). Before this news becomes public tomorrow, I want you to hear directly from me about what happened, why I took action, and why this lawsuit is so necessary.

I am going to be on the record, whether it was discussed prior to my becoming a commissioner or not, that I would not support this project unless there's a CBA involved. This community is owed that, and it's the only way that we can enforce any of the questions... or any of the other concerns that have been brought to us. It's almost like that's how we as a community can continue to grasp control and hold over our community. So I'm going to go on the record right now and say I will not support this project unless there is a CBA agreed [to] by the community."
