ANC Commissioner Donohue is strongly encouraging fellow ANC Commissioners and local neighbors to sign up for the Fall 2026 Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) Community Engagement Academy (CEA). Having attended in the past, Commissioner Donohue highly recommends this unique program for anyone looking to gain hands-on insight into police operations in our city!

What is the Community Engagement Academy? The CEA is an 8-week program running from October 1 through November 14. It gives community members a direct look at the inner workings of law enforcement, featuring visits to MPD facilities, discussions with officers and officials, a station tour, a 911 communications deep dive, and even a 4-hour patrol car ride-along option!

• Oct 8: 1st District Officer Panel & Station Tour
• Oct 15: 911 Emergency Communications (OUC)
• Oct 24: Use of Force & K-9 Discussion
• Oct 29: Victim Services & Crime Investigations Panel
• Nov 5: An Evening with the Chief & Real Time Crime Center
• Nov 14: Harbor Patrol Unit
• Oct 5 – Nov 8: Arranged 4-Hour Ride-Along
