1️⃣ 🎓 2026 Fairlawn Citizens Association (FCA) Scholarship Programs

The Fairlawn Citizens Association is now accepting applications for its 2026 scholarship tracks:

• FCA Scholarship ($1,000/year, up to 4 years): Available to high school seniors & returning college students pursuing a 4-year degree whose parent(s)/guardian(s) have been active FCA members for at least 1 year.
• FCA-ESA Ward 8 Scholarship: Open to ALL Ward 8 youth pursuing post-secondary goals—including 4-year university degrees, community college, vocational training, or professional internships.
• 🗓️ Deadline: Friday, September 18, 2026 at 11:59 PM
• 📲 How to Apply: Scan the QR codes on the attached flyer or email fcascholarships8@gmail.com for a paper application.

2️⃣ 🌱 Sierra Club DC Youth Climate Leadership Program (2026–2027)

A unique leadership opportunity for D.C. high school students to build skills, serve the community, and gain real-world experience!

• Who’s Eligible: High school Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors residing in D.C. (New this year: 1 student will be selected from each D.C. Ward!).
• Program Perks: Earn community service hours OR choose to receive a $700 honorarium for full participation. Free lunch is provided at meetings!
• Schedule: Meets twice a month on Sundays (12:30 PM – 3:00 PM, 14 total meetings) from September 2026 to April 2027.
• 🗓️ Deadline: Monday, August 31, 2026 at 11:59 PM
