Violent Crime: Total violent crime increased from 66 to 89 (+34.8%), driven primarily by a steep rise in non-fatal armed violence. Property Crime: Total property crime rose slightly from 252 to 262 (+4.0%).

Over the past 24 months, 1828 Q Street SE has descended into an acute public safety hazard, public nuisance, and unchecked criminal hub within the Fairlawn community. Following a previous homicide and settlement against past ownership, the property transitioned to current management/ownership under Marquis Bailey (operating via entities including BW Bailey Family Trust LLC and 1828 Q Street SE Apartments LLC), where structural and operational oversight completely collapsed.

Voluntary promises and standard zoning compliance are simply not enough to protect our neighborhood's long-term interests.

Our community is facing a critical crisis with unhoused residents and individuals struggling with severe substance use disorders—particularly along the Q Street SE corridor and surrounding blocks. While safety is essential, law enforcement alone cannot solve these complex issues. We need real, compassionate, direct resources on the ground to give our neighbors the support and hope they need to seek help and rebuild their lives.

Financially, for years I've pledged $2,000 to two murdered victims in Fairlawn to pay for the victims tombstones. Theres more to this than what is being reported."
